I'm... not sure what to say at a time like this.

I have recently acquired an absurd amount of food for free. Backstory: Cheap Seats has a party every year, and they purchase a lot of food for it. Said food was not consumed, so they dropped it off downstairs to us lucky kids at Orpheum Film Club while we were in the middle of watching the original version of The Vanishing. We descended upon the food with such passion that we even paused the movie, and consumed like some sort of film appreciation beasts.

However, we could barely make a dent in it, so I took the majority of it back with me. No one else wanted it, and my inability to waste that much food won out. As an homage to Megan's string of food posts, I offer up my leftovers:

Left to right: Marshmallows, brownie cubes, fondue chocolate, mustard, cheese sticks, french toast sticks, and chicken nuggets.

The fried foods. Everything but the cheese sticks are packed into those freezer bags (which aptly described where I put them).

It's been one of my goals in the three years I've been at UMW to get a massive amount of honey mustard for myself, as I've yet to find a suitable substitute out in the real world to buy. Imagine my disappointment upon discovering that the Cheap Seats people mixed up the lids to the mustards, and I had a tub of regular mustard, and had thrown out the honey mustard.

The sweets. There was apparently a ton of chocolate fondue that no one ate.

To give you some inkling as to how much chocolate is in there, that bowl is full, and it's about 10 inches in diameter. If the volume of a half a sphere is .5([4/3]πr³), then I have approximately 523.6 cubic inches of chocolate sitting in my fridge right now.

They were just begging for this kind of shot. And I intend to roast them over a fire, one way or another.

As were the brownies.

And lastly, a small lake of chocolate that Oompa Loompas could build a summer home on.

I've made sure that the twitterverse knows about the bounty they're welcome to, but I'm seriously not sure how I'm going to get rid of all this food. I'll probably throw a party during dead week and throw all the fried goods I have in the freezer right now into the oven to make them semi-decent leftovers. And the chocolate? I'll think of something to do with that, don't you worry.

WOW. That is incredibly intense. Sigh, you should make food carepackages for all your friends! *hint*hint*

I would, but I'm not entirely sure how any of this would travel well.
